Liana Papaioannou
Bio
Born in Athens. She studied at the Athens School of Fine Arts with Kostas Grammatopoulos as her teacher. During the period 1968-1975, she was an assistant in the Printmaking Studio of the Athens School of Fine Arts. In 1977, having won a scholarship, she completed her studies in Lithography at the Tamarind Institute of New Mexico, under professors Garo Andrezian and John Summers. She has presented 15 solo exhibitions in Athens, Thessaloniki, Heraclion and Chania in Greece, Nicosia in Cyprus, Potenza in Italy and Madrid in Spain. She has participated in many Panhellenic Exhibitions, in 14 international exhibitions in Europe, the United States, Moscow etc. and in 9 Biennial exhibitions. She has won two Awards in Color Woodcut at the International Engraving Competition in Ferrol, Spain, in two consecutive years.
