Roubina Sarelakou

Bio

She was born in 1950, in Athens. She studied at the Athens School of Fine Arts from 1960 to 1974 with Nikos Nikolaou, Yannis Moralis and Kostas Grammatopoulos and at the Ecole des Beaux-Arts in Paris with Georges Dayez from 1974 to 1976. She was bestowed many Awards by: the Athens Academy in 1980, the House of Arts and Letters in 1985, the Tranoulis Foundation in 1986. She was also bestowed the Award of Honour by the International Print Biennale "Intergraphic" in Berlin, in 1986. She has taught Drawing and Colour in the Vakalo School of Art and Design. In the year 2000 she created the theatre sets for Tennessee Williams' play "Outcry", produced by Yorgos Armenis' New Greek Theatre. She has designed numerous Ex Libris for the Vasilis Zeugolis Collection. Her work has been shown in 20 solo exhibitions and numerous group ones in Greece and abroad (Paris, New York, London, Venice, Grenoble, New Delhi, Cyprus and Luxemburg).
