Yannis Kapsidakis

Bio

He was born in New Philadelphia, Thessaloniki in 1957. He studied Painting and Printmaking at the School of Fine Arts of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki. He is a member of six artists associations, he has studied and sketched the construction of printing presses, he has had 22 solo exhibitions and he has participated in more than 110 group exhibitions in Greece and abroad. He has been working as an Art teacher in schools. He is also responsible, since 1998, for the creation of a Visual Arts Workshop - a pioneering project for the standards of Greek Education - named "the Apple of Discord". In 1995 he was awarded the Participation Prize of the Bosch Gallery, the 2nd Prize of the Heineken Art and in 2002 the 1st Prize of the Comenius Programme. His works can be found in public and private collections in Greece and abroad. He lives in Epanomi, Thessaloniki. 23 Agion Theodoron str.
